Basketball Recap: New Washington Comes Up Short

After flying high against Crothersville last Tuesday, New Washington came back down to earth. The New Washington Mustangs took a 64-46 bruising from the Christian Academy Warriors on Thursday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Jackson out in front who went 8 of 14 en route to 18 points and seven boards. That's the most points Jackson has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexus Bryant, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 18 points.

New Washington has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-10.

New Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christian Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Kentucky Country Day at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
