With a playoff win on the line, Strom Thurmond rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Chester Cyclones as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won seven contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Strom Thurmond got a big performance out of Leigh Anne Strock, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Strock has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Harrison, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Strom Thurmond's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-8. As for Chester, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.
As of now, neither Strom Thurmond nor the Cyclones have any future games scheduled.
