Baseball Game Preview: Varela Vipers vs. Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks

For the second straight game, Varela will face off against Archbishop McCarthy. The Vipers will take on the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Varela's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Archbishop McCarthy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Varela is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Archbishop McCarthy 8-7. The victory was familiar territory for the Vipers, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Jonathan Paniagua was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Yoidi Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Varela hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.
