Baseball Game Preview: Arbor View Aggies vs. Shadow Ridge Mustangs

For the second straight game, Arbor View will face off against Shadow Ridge. Arbor View will welcome Shadow Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Arbor View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Shadow Ridge, who was ranked 25th at the time (Arbor View was ranked fourth). Arbor View took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shadow Ridge on Monday. The Aggies have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

For Shadow Ridge's part, Jackson Nelson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Nelson didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Kyson Rollo and Brayden Leavitt did most of the damage at the plate: Rollo scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Leavitt scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Leavitt a new career-high. Samuel Stahl was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Shadow Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win (which was Shadow Ridge's third in a row) raised their record to 6-9. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing ten hits in those games compared to only 3.25 in the others. As for Arbor View, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
