Football Recap: Southern Valley Comes Up Short

Southern Valley lost against Alma back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles were dealt a 42-14 defeat at the hands of the Cardinals. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Southern Valley had strong showings from Prestin Horwart, who rushed for 130 yards and two scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and Hunter Lans, who rushed for 156 yards. With that strong performance, Lans is now averaging an impressive 100.2 rushing yards per game.

Alma's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tucker Biskup, who picked up 49 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. What's more, Biskup racked up 23 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. Isaiah Neal was in the mix as well, providing Alma with two scores.

Southern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Alma, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3.
