Volleyball Recap: Taylor O'connell Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Gettysburg

Philip's tournament run continued when they took on Gettysburg on Saturday. The Scotties walked away with a 2-0 win over the Battlers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Scotties.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Philip to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor O'Connell, who had 13 digs and two aces. O'Connell has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played. Memphis Konst was another key player, getting 12 digs and 11 assists.

Philip's victory bumped their record up to 7-17. As for Gettysburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

Philip didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Wolsey-Wessington on the 11th. As for Gettysburg, they will host Aberdeen Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
