Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Salem). Everything went their way against the East Alton-Wood River Oilers on Thursday as they made off with a 21-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Oilers: they've now won eight in a row.
Noah Nix made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Jalen Inlow was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs.
