Basketball Recap: Lake Oconee Academy Takes a Loss

Lake Oconee Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-2. The contest between the Titans and the Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights didn't end well, with the Titans falling 50-36. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royal Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

As for Elite Scholars Academy, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 60.0 points this season.

Jeremiah Janiver was nothing short of spectacular: he went 10-for-24 to rack up 20 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Charles-Jones, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Coming up, Lake Oconee Academy will challenge Oglethorpe County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elite Scholars Academy, they will square off against Lakeview Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
