Baseball Recap: La Lumiere Has No Trouble Against South Shore Homeschool Athletics

La Lumiere's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the South Shore Homeschool Athletics Eagles as they made off with a 7-1 victory.

Josh Jaracz and Brady Monaghan made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Jaracz pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Monaghan kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. At bat, Jaracz scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Monaghan scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave Monaghan a new career-high.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bobby Looney, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

The win got La Lumiere back to even at 1-1. As for South Shore Homeschool Athletics, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

La Lumiere and South Shore Homeschool Athletics will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Lakers see the field they'll take on Tippecanoe Valley at 5:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for South Shore Homeschool Athletics, their break will end when they face South Bend Career Academy at 5:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
