Basketball Recap: Tillamook Cheesemakers vs. Scappoose Indians
The Tillamook Cheesemakers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 76-51 walloping at the hands of Scappoose. While losing is never fun, Tillamook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Indians are ranked 96th).
Scappoose's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quinton Olson led the charge by scoring 18 points along with two steals. Colton Sprenger was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Tillamook dropped their record down to 2-16 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Scappoose, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Astoria the next time they take the court. Scappoose will head out to face Astoria at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Tillamook will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
