Baseball Recap: Southwind Extends Winning Streak to Three

Southwind had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Middle College Bulldogs by a score of 9-5. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 8-3 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2019.

The team relied heavily on Stephen Simmons, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rydell Meads, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Southwind's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Middle College, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Southwind will challenge Overton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Middle College, they will venture away from home to face off against Kirby at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
