Softball Game Preview: Kermit Yellow Jackets vs. Brownfield Cubs

For the second straight game, Kermit will face off against Brownfield. The Yellow Jackets will square off against the Cubs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Kermit has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kermit lost 23-5 to Brownfield on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their meetings with the Cubs: they've now lost five in a row.

Kalysta Burrola and Isabella Urquidi did some serious damage despite the final result: Burrola went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Urquidi went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Brownfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.3 runs. As for Kermit, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
