Basketball Recap: Colfax Comes Up Short

After flying high against Spring Valley last Tuesday, Colfax came back down to earth. The Colfax Vikings came up short against the Elk Mound Mounders on Friday, falling 46-24. The Vikings have struggled against the Mounders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Colfax's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Elk Mound, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Colfax and Elk Mound should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. Colfax (ranked 102nd) will meet Elmwood/Plum City (ranked 331st) at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Elk Mound will challenge Spring Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday up 235 places (5 vs. 240).
