Soccer Game Preview: Lake Forest vs. Wheeling

The Lake Forest Scouts are taking a road trip to face off against the Wheeling Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lake Forest is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering New Trier just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Trevians by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Lake Forest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while New Trier are ranked second).

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Wheeling's offense. They came up short against Hoffman Estates last Friday, falling 4-0.

Lake Forest's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Wheeling, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
