Football Recap: Morton Victorious

Morton and Mendenhall pushed the score to 32-29 the last time they played Mendenhall, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Panthers walked away with a 14-7 win over the Tigers. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 32-29 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Morton can attribute much of their success to Xavier McDonald, who picked up 101 receiving yards and one score.

Morton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mendenhall, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Morton will challenge rival Raymond at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd. Meanwhile, Mendenhall is set to square off against their familiar foe Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
