Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Franklin's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Franklin won against Edison last Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on the McNair Eagles with a sharp 11-0 win. Considering the Yellowjackets have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Devian Bautista was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three doubles, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Carlos Ayala was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .526 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Franklin has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for McNair, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Franklin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-0 win against Chavez on the 9th. As for McNair, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Weston Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on the 16th. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.57 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
