Softball Game Preview: Mt. Eden Monarchs vs. Washington Huskies

The Mt. Eden Monarchs will kick their season off against the Washington Huskies on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled at 3:30 p.m.

Washington is leaving town to face Mt. Eden after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Washington lost 11-0 to San Leandro on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

As for Mt. Eden, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the right side of .500 (13-8), and they're hoping to kick off an even more successful campaign this year.

Mt. Eden took their win against Washington in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 11-0. Will Mt. Eden repeat their success, or does Washington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
