Basketball Recap: Aldine Comes Up Short

Aldine had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-10 to make it five. They had to suffer through a 90-29 loss at the hands of the Beaumont United Timberwolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 95-18 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2021.

As for Beaumont United, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 71.6 points this season.

It was another big night for Payton Jones, who shot 75% from the field en route to 15 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The matchup was his ninth in a row with at least 15 points. Treylon Tillman was another key player, putting up ten points.

Aldine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-39 defeat against Angleton on the 5th. As for Beaumont United, they have also already played their next contest, an 83-48 win against Conroe on the 5th.
