North Laurel waltzed into their match on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They never let the Clay County Tigers get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 two weeks ago.

The result came thanks to Tessa Monhollen's shutout, as she gave up just four hits.

At the plate, Saige McClure was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Carl, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

North Laurel's win bumped their record up to 20-1-1. As for Clay County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

North Laurel has already played their next contest, a 17-0 victory against Middlesboro on the 1st. As for Clay County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 win against Knox Central on the 1st.
