Football Recap: Trinity Christian Skates Past Covenant Day with Ease

Trinity Christian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Covenant Day, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Crusaders took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 43-6 victory over the Lions. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Crusaders just coasted through the last quarter.

Trinity Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Clifton out in front who rushed for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. The dominant performance also gave Clifton a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Amir Jackson was another key back, rushing for 76 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

The victory was the third in a row for Trinity Christian, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.3 points on average this season. As for Covenant Day, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
