Basketball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Kennedy saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took a blow against the St. Edward Green Wave, falling 73-39. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Kennedy still got an impressive performance from Ja'Veon Sargent-Williams, who posted 17 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Sargent-Williams a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Julian Cuevas, who had eight points and ten rebounds.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for St. Edward, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Kennedy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Marian Central Catholic at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. One thing working in Marian Central Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for St. Edward, they will take on Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
