Volleyball Recap: Dakota Starts Season with Win Against River Ridge

Dakota had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the River Ridge Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dakota not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept River Ridge to exactly 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17.

Finley Banks paced Dakota's offense, picking up six kills. Banks got some help from Hailey Kerchner and her 17 assists. Carlie LaBudde controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Dakota will face off against Stillman Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, River Ridge and Pearl City will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on September 3.
