Baseball Game Preview: Hargrave Falcons vs. Tarkington Longhorns

For the second straight game, Hargrave will face off against Tarkington. Hargrave will be playing in front of their home fans against Tarkington at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hargrave is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Hargrave's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Tarkington as Hargrave made off with an 8-0 win.

John Dolan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avry Cordell, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Bryce Nixon, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Hargrave's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tarkington, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-11-1 record.
