Basketball Recap: St. Elizabeth Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, St. Elizabeth couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sanford Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost seven in a row.

Sanford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khareem Hart led the charge by shooting 58% from the field en route to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Taylor, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

St. Elizabeth's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Sanford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

St. Elizabeth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sanford, they have already played their next contest, a 37-34 win against Dover on the 9th.
