Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Laurel). Everything went their way against the Middlesboro Yellowjackets on Tuesday as they made off with a 20-5 victory. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

South Laurel is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Middlesboro, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, South Laurel will head out on the road to square off against Perry County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Middlesboro, they will host North Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
