Preview: May Tigers vs. Cross Plains Buffaloes
May is 8-2 against Cross Plains since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The May Tigers will be playing at home against the Cross Plains Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. May will be strutting in after a win while Cross Plains will be coming in after a defeat.
May posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They blew past Moran 76-27 on the road. 76 seems to be a good number for May as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-36, which was the final score in Cross Plains' tilt against Abilene Christian back in December of 2023. Cross Plains was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-11.
May's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Cross Plains, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
May skirted past Cross Plains 35-32 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will May repeat their success, or does Cross Plains have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
