Preview: De La Salle Spartans vs. Clovis North Broncos

De La Salle is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Clovis North is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The De La Salle Spartans will take on the Clovis North Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in the nation (De La Salle is ranked 56th, while Clovis North is ranked 61st).

De La Salle had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against San Ramon Valley by a score of 17-7 two weeks ago.

Among those leading the charge was Toa Faavae, who rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.

The team's defense also helped out by holding San Ramon Valley to a paltry 154 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to De La Salle's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Nemyah Telona and his two sacks.

Meanwhile, Clovis North has more to be thankful for after their contest against Central on Friday. Clovis North walked away with a 24-14 win over Central.

Clovis North can attribute much of their success to Mckay Madsen, who rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries.

Their wins bumped De La Salle to 10-2 and San Ramon Valley to 10-2.
