Volleyball Recap: Flandreau Takes a Loss

Flandreau lost against Beresford back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Fliers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Watchdogs.

Flandreau started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-19.

When it comes to explaining why Flandreau lost, don't look at Lily Arnold. Despite the final result, she had 29 digs and two assists. Arnold is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Rhegan Sheppard also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Flandreau has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Beresford, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flandreau will venture away from home to face off against Garretson at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Fliers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Beresford, they will challenge Parker/Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
