Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Ryken Starts Season with Victory on the Road

St. Mary's Ryken had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Boys Latin Lakers 48-45. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 78-55 loss the last time these two teams met.

Boys Latin's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, St. Mary's Ryken will head out on the road to challenge St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Boys Latin, they will host Gilman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Lakers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
