Volleyball Preview: Key West Conchs vs. Coral Shores Hurricanes

After both having extra time off, the Key West Conchs and the Coral Shores Hurricanes will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Key West sitting on three straight wins and Coral Shores on eight.

Last Saturday, it was close, but Key West sidestepped Wellington for a 2-1 victory.

Key West was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (62-61), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 26-24, 15-13.

Molly McKnight was the offensive standout of the contest as she had nine digs.

Meanwhile, everything went Coral Shores' way against Keys Gate on Thursday as Coral Shores made off with a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-8, 25-17.

Key West has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Coral Shores, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Key West was able to grind out a solid win over Coral Shores when the teams last played back in October of 2023, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Key West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
