Softball Recap: Beaver Dam Starts off Right with Win over Fond Du Lac

Beaver Dam had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Fond du Lac Cardinals with a sharp 22-11 win on Tuesday. The Golden Beavers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 10, 2024.

Beaver Dam got a massive performance out of Kendall Fakes, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Abfall, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Beaver Dam hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fond du Lac struck out seven times.

Fond du Lac's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaver Dam will head out to square off against West Bend East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fond du Lac, they will venture away from home to challenge Appleton East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
