Softball Recap: Skyview's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to 15

Skyview came tearing into Friday's game with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Mt. Rainier Rams 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won 17 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Maddie Milhorn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Skyview let Addy Harmier and Layla Royle run wild. Harmier went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Royle went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Royle a new career-high. Devyn Yates was another key player, earning one RBI, four runs, and one stolen base.

Skyview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in 15 consecutive contests.

Skyview's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Rainier, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Skyview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against Puyallup on the 16th. Mt. Rainier does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
