Softball Recap: Mt. Diablo Red Devils vs. Northgate Broncos
Mt. Diablo's hitters rose to the challenge against a Broncos pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.65 runs allowed on Tuesday. The Mt. Diablo Red Devils narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Northgate Broncos 14-13. This was payback for Mt. Diablo, who suffered a 16-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Sophie Ramos made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Ramos was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
