The Cherry Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Cherry will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Cherry has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 33 points or more this season. They blew past South Ridge, posting a 105-36 win on the road. That looming 105-36 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Cherry yet this season.
Cherry got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Asuma out in front who scored 19 points along with seven assists and six steals. The matchup was Asuma's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Noah Sundquist was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Moose Lake/Willow River aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Thursday extended their overall winning streak to three. They came out on top against North Woods by a score of 92-85. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cherry's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Moose Lake/Willow River, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-0.
