Geneva is 9-1 against Lakeside since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagles will welcome the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Geneva got the win against Conneaut by a conclusive 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Annabelle Bragg made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last nine matchups. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Claire Cafaro was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Savannah Burton was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Geneva was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Lakeside can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over Struthers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Like Geneva, Lakeside also got a great game from a two-way player: Emily Mohney. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Mohney was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophia Matrisciano, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lucie Cole, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
Geneva has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Lakeside, their victory bumped their record up to 2-13.
Geneva took their win against Lakeside in their previous meeting on April 14th by a conclusive 21-1 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
