Softball Game Preview: Lockhart vs. Hays Rebels

Lockhart is 1-9 against Hays since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Lockhart will welcome Hays at 7:00 p.m. Lockhart has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lockhart fell victim to Liberty Hill and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 15-0 to the Panthers.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hays, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Rouse a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Rebels have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Teuila Eteaki, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Ashlyn Galvan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Hays pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Lockhart, their loss dropped their record down to 3-21.
