Softball Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

Dover entered their game against Timberlane on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Green Wave took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Owls. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Green Wave, who until this matchup were averaging 3.36 runs allowed.

Emma Shepard stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Brooke Jolicoeur was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Timberlane, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Dover will take on rival Merrimack at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Green Wave 3.4, the Tomahawks 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Timberlane is set to challenge their familiar foe Keene at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
