Baseball Recap: Santa Rosa Comes Up Short

Santa Rosa lost against Redwood back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers fell 7-4 to the Giants. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Mason Rizo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Anthonie Navarro, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Santa Rosa's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Redwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Rosa will challenge St. Vincent de Paul at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.69 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Redwood, they will host Terra Linda at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Giants are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
