Baseball Recap: King Comes Up Short

King suffered their closest defeat since April 6, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Greenwich Country Day Tigers by a score of 5-3. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 9-4.

King dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Greenwich Country Day, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King will square off against Hamden at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenwich Country Day, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brunswick School at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
