Basketball Recap: Cloudcroft Comes Up Short

If Cloudcroft was riding high fresh off their 42-22 takedown of Dora last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cloudcroft Bears took a 56-37 bruising from the Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue on Friday. The loss was the Bears' first of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Cloudcroft lost, don't look at Rylee Pahl. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points and five steals. That was a full 45.9% of Cloudcroft's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Dodson, who put up ten points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cloudcroft fell to 2-1. As for Roy/Mosquero, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Cloudcroft wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-48 loss against Maxwell on the 7th. As for Roy/Mosquero, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-29 defeat against Logan on the 7th.
