Basketball Game Preview: Burges Mustangs vs. Chapin Huskies

The Burges Mustangs will head out to take on the Chapin Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Burges comes in on three and Chapin on four.

On Tuesday, Burges blew past El Paso, posting a 64-26 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, everything went Chapin's way against Andress on Tuesday as Chapin made off with a 45-25 win. The Huskies pushed the score to 39-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Burges has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Chapin, their victory bumped their record up to 14-12.

Everything came up roses for Burges against Chapin when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Burges since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
