It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Taft ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Aransas Pass Panthers 4-3. The Greyhounds haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on John Franco, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Taft now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Aransas Pass, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10-1 record this season.

Aransas Pass will square off against Odem at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Taft will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' game: after the Panthers faces off against West Oso, they'll take on Taft again at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
