Basketball Recap: Brindlee Mountain Piles Up the Points Against Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering

A well-balanced attack led Brindlee Mountain over Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Brindlee Mountain Lions blew the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering Sentinels out of the water with a 52-12 final score. That looming 52-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brindlee Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke West, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and seven assists. That's the most points West has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Persle, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

West wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Brindlee Mountain was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Brindlee Mountain's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brindlee Mountain will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Elkmont at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering, they are taking a road trip to square off against Westminster Christian Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
