Preview: Stewart County Rebels vs. Clarksville Christian
Stewart County is 4-0 against Clarksville Christian since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Stewart County Rebels will get right back to it and host Clarksville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Stewart County had to endure an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against East Hickman County by a score of 60-52 on Thursday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Stewart County has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Clarksville Christian strolled past Big Sandy with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 68-54. The victory was just what Clarksville Christian needed coming off of a 53-33 defeat in their prior match.
Clarksville Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jesiah Sutton led the charge by scoring 16 points. Sutton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyler Middleton, who scored 17 points.
Stewart County's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-10. As for Clarksville Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Stewart County strolled past Clarksville Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a score of 53-34. Will Stewart County repeat their success, or does Clarksville Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
