While St. Francis didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

St. Francis walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-15, 25-20, 18-25, 25-20.

St. Francis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but GEORGIA OTZMAN led the charge by getting 37 assists and 18 digs. Another player making a difference was JULIE LOPEZ, who had 14 digs, 12 kills, and three aces.

St. Francis is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Rancho San Juan, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
