Football Recap: Camden Central Sets Scoring Season-High Against Stewart County + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Camden Central). Everything went their way against the Stewart County Rebels on Friday as they made off with a 51-29 win. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 28-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jake Reynoldson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 56 yards and one TD on only seven carries, while also throwing for 159 yards and one touchdown. Those 56 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Camden Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Camden Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points over those games. As for Stewart County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Coming up, Camden Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Harpeth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stewart County, they will square off against Gibson County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will be up against the Pioneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.56 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
