Softball Game Preview: Burgin Bulldogs vs. Thomas Nelson Generals

The Burgin Bulldogs are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Thomas Nelson Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burgin has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Burgin came up short against Berea last Tuesday, falling 18-2. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Thomas Nelson was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Bardstown with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Generals have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Burgin now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Thomas Nelson, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Burgin beat Thomas Nelson 13-9 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
