Basketball Preview: Lexington Yellowjackets vs. West Davidson Dragons

The Lexington Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the West Davidson Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.

Lexington scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 62-31 victory over South Davidson.

Lexington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lily Ervin, who scored 18 points. Nadia Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led West Davidson over the Bulldogs in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that West Davidson blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 43-5 final score. With West Davidson ahead 30-2 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Lexington's record now sits at 7-13. As for West Davidson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season.

Lexington didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Dragons in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 49-45 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was West Davidson's Zoey Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Lexington still be able to contain Taylor? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
