Basketball Game Preview: Bonita Springs Bullsharks vs. Barron Collier Cougars

Bonita Springs is 0-3 against Barron Collier since January of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. After both made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.

Bonita Springs is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Cypress Lake 51-13 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bullsharks have posted since December 7, 2023.

Bonita Springs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyleigh Weick, who posted 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Swanner, who earned 18 points.

Meanwhile, Barron Collier came into Tuesday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Golden Gate 68-31. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Titans are ranked 542nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bonita Springs' victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Barron Collier, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Bonita Springs was dealt a bruising 68-8 loss at the hands of Barron Collier in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bonita Springs was down 42-4.
