Baseball Recap: Columbus East Takes a Loss

Columbus East lost against Jennings County two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Olympians fell 6-3 to the Panthers. The Olympians just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Columbus East got a good showing from Ryker Stott, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stott has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aiden Bumbalough was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That run was his first of the season.

Columbus East's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Jennings County, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-11.

Coming up, Columbus East will challenge New Albany at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jennings County, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Beech Grove at 11:00 a.m.
